Showerthought: I hit 500 posts on this forum and it felt weird
I was just looking at my profile the other day and saw the number. I always thought people who tracked that stuff were a bit too into it, like it was just a number. But seeing '500' there made me stop. It made me think about all the questions I've asked and answered over the last couple years. Has hitting a random forum number ever made you stop and think?

Saw a tweet once where someone called forum post counts "digital dust" we leave behind. Kinda stuck with me. Makes you wonder what all that typing adds up to, right?

My buddy Dave hit 10k on a gaming forum and had a full crisis. He told me he scrolled back to his first post, some dumb question about a boss fight from 2012. He said seeing all that text, all those arguments and jokes, felt like reading someone else's diary. He didn't post for a week after that.

Feel the same way about hitting 1k. It sneaks up on you and makes you realize how much time you've spent here. Honestly, it's a weird little milestone.

Right? That "weird little milestone" feeling is so real. I hit 1k and my first thought was "oh no, I could have learned a language with this time" (but I didn't).
