Showerthought: most people asking for advice online don't actually want advice
I've been lurking in this community for about 4 months now and I keep noticing the same thing. Someone posts a question, gets 20 solid answers, and then argues with every single one because they already made up their mind before hitting post. Case in point: a guy asked where to eat in Chicago last week, got 15 real suggestions, and then replied "nah" to all of them except the one spot he mentioned in his own post. So what's the deal, are people here actually looking for answers or just wanting someone to agree with them?
