Spent 3 hours trying to open a jar of pickles before I realized the lid was cross-threaded
I bought a big jar of dill pickles from the grocery store last Tuesday, and I couldn't get the lid off no matter what I did. Ran it under hot water, used a rubber band for grip, even banged it on the counter. After about 20 minutes I gave up and asked my neighbor to try, and she couldn't do it either. So I left it on the counter for two days, tried again with no luck, and finally my husband came home and twisted it off in like five seconds. Turns out the lid was put on crooked from the factory, so it was jamming against the threads. Felt pretty dumb but also kind of relieved it wasn't just me being weak. Has anyone else run into a jar that was basically sabotaged from the start?

Oh man, cross-threaded jars are the WORST. I spent a solid hour once trying to open a pasta sauce jar and my kid came over and twisted it off with no effort. Made me feel like a total wimp until I realized the lid was literally warped from the factory.

Three hours on a jar? That's a rookie number, try parenting three kids.

Ha! "Rookie number" I'm dead. Try opening a pickle jar with baby oil on your hands from changing diapers. That's a workout and a half, I swear. My toddler walked over and popped it like it was nothing too.
