Found my childhood telescope photos, and the sky was actually BLACK.

I was sorting through a box in the attic and found these old snaps. Now when I try from the same window, it's just a fuzzy ORANGE blob from all the new lights. Do you think we'll ever get serious about dark sky preserves?

Photos make it real, but being out there under a dark sky is a whole different thing. Your eyes adjust and the Milky Way just looks like a cloud up there. We've let it get so bad most kids have never seen that. Makes you wonder what else we've just gotten used to losing.
