Just realized the crescent moon I saw last week is the same phase my dad photographed 30 years ago

I was flipping through his old prints from 1994 and both shots are a 12% waxing crescent, same angle in the sky. It hit me that these cycles are so repeatable we can plan our whole lives around them. Anyone else ever compare their photos to one taken by a family member decades apart?
