Learned more from one roll of film than 2 years of phone pics of the sky
For about 2 years I took pictures of the moon and stars with my phone, holding it up to my eye and hoping. Last March I borrowed a friend's old film camera in Tucson and shot one roll of the night sky over 4 nights. Waiting a week to see the pictures taught me to slow down and check my focus and framing first. The prints came back grainy and only 3 shots were worth keeping, but I learned more from those 3 than from hundreds of phone shots. Has anyone here moved to film for sky photos, and did it change how you plan a night out?
