My old DSLR shutter gave out right in the middle of the Perseids
It was the peak night last August, and I was set up in my backyard. The mirror just locked up with a sad click after about 200 shots. Had to switch to my phone for the rest of the night. Anyone have a good, cheap DSLR body they'd recommend for a backup?

Totally get that. Used to think you needed a fancy backup too, but my old Nikon D90 changed my mind. That thing is a tank and you can find them for next to nothing now.

Man, that's the worst timing. Used to think you needed a fancy new body as a backup, but my old Canon T3i just won't die (got it used for peanuts). Something like that might surprise you.
