My time-lapse of the night sky is mostly clouds and a curious owl

The owl stared into the lens for a solid twenty minutes.

Twenty minutes is a long stare down from a bird. My last attempt at a star trail was completely ruined by a neighborhood cat walking right in front of the camera, so at least you got a cool owl out of the deal instead of a blurry tail.

Ha, that's actually kind of awesome! I started putting my camera lower to the ground after a raccoon messed up my shot. Seems to keep most critters out of the frame.

No kidding! I set up for a sunset timelapse once and a whole family of squirrels decided my tripod leg was the perfect scratching post. Got twenty minutes of shaky blur. Another time I left a camera out overnight for some milky way shots and a deer licked the lens around 3 AM. Just a giant blurry tongue filling every frame. Nature always finds a way to mess with your gear.
