That $300 telescope filter I bought was a total waste of money
I got talked into buying a fancy light pollution filter for my telescope last month. Cost me $300 at a local shop in Denver. The guy said it would make city sky photos look like they were from a dark site. But all my shots came out with weird color casts and I couldn't fix them in editing. Has anyone else had bad luck with those expensive filters, or did I just pick the wrong brand?

Return that thing immediately and get your money back, most cheap filters ruin the image way worse than light pollution does.

Honestly I bought a cheap clip-on filter for my telescope and it made everything look like it was smeared in Vaseline, total waste of $30. Ngl I'd rather deal with a little glow than that blurry mess.

Oh absolutely, you spend more time trying to fix the garbage it creates than you ever would light pollution.
