A neighbor told me to stop mulching my flower beds so high and now they look way better
I used to pile on about 4 inches of mulch around my azaleas every spring because I thought thicker was better. But Mrs. Patterson down the street in Decatur finally told me I was smothering the roots and attracting termites. She said keep it to 2 inches max and pull it back from the trunks a few inches. Has anyone else been doing it wrong for years without knowing?
