My GPS reroute through College Park backfired hard on Tuesday

I was heading to a client meeting off Camp Creek Parkway and my GPS sent me down Washington Road to avoid the 285 mess. It said I would save 12 minutes, but I hit three school zones, a stalled MARTA bus, and a road crew blocking one lane near the old airport. What should have been a 20 minute drive turned into 45, and I walked in late with coffee still in my hand. The ironic part is the direct route probably would have been fine since the accident was cleared by then. I've learned to ignore those "faster route" suggestions when they pull me off the main highways around here. Does anyone else just stick to the familiar streets even when the app begs you to switch?
