My truck AC died in the middle of a heat wave last week
I was driving back from a job in Decatur and the air just stopped blowing cold. It was 96 degrees out and I had another stop to make. Pulled over and checked the freon, but the compressor clutch wasn't even engaging. Had to roll down the windows and sweat it out for 20 minutes on 285. Took it to a shop on Memorial Drive and they said the compressor seized up. $850 to replace it. Anyone else had a car AC give out at the worst possible time?

Blew a fuse in my own car on the way to a doctor's appointment during a heat wave last summer. Middle of July, 98 degrees, stuck on 75 with the blower running but zero cold air. Ended up sitting in the parking lot of an AutoZone drinking a warm bottle of water while watching YouTube videos on how to fix it. Took me two days and a lot of cursing to figure out the relay was just fried. Your compressor seizing up sounds way worse than my dumb little fuse problem, sorry you had to deal with that.

Nah man, your fuse thing is still brutal. 98 degrees with no AC is no joke, I'd take a seized compressor over sitting in a hot parking lot watching YouTube tutorials any day. At least with the compressor you know it's dead and gotta replace it, that fuse chase can drive you crazy.

Wait, you actually watched YouTube tutorials in a hot parking lot instead of just giving up and crying like a normal person? lmao you're way more dedicated than I am, I would've just sat there sweating and complaining to anyone who walked by.
