Switched my whole route order after a retired carrier yelled at me
Been carrying the same Atlanta route for about 4 years now, always started at the far end and worked my way back. This old guy, must've been 70, saw me loading up at the station and just shook his head. He said 'you're burning daylight, start at the hills and end at the flats, your legs will thank you by Friday.' I figured he was just some nostalgic type, so I ignored him for two more months. Then my left knee started aching every single evening, and I finally tried his way last Tuesday. I'm not gonna say it's magic, but my finish time dropped by 45 minutes and my knee hasn't bothered me since. Had no idea the terrain was costing me that much energy. Anyone else get route advice from someone who hasn't carried in decades and actually found it useful?

Retired carrier yelled at me" and then it actually works? That's like getting life advice from a guy who still pays with checks, and suddenly your 401k makes sense. Guess I gotta start bowing down to every old timer at the gas station now.
