That $40 indoor herb garden kit I was skeptical about actually grew real basil in 3 weeks
My wife bought one of those Aerogarden knockoffs from Amazon back in January and I rolled my eyes so hard. I'm not a plant guy at all and figured it'd be a waste of counter space. But she set it up in the kitchen, put in those little pods, and within 3 weeks we had actual basil and parsley growing. Now I'm eating fresh herbs on my eggs every morning and it's kind of wild how easy it was. Has anyone else tried one of these and actually had it work out?

Three weeks seems fast for basil. Usually takes closer to four or five. Not saying you're wrong, just that I've grown those pods a few times and three weeks would be record speed.

Taylor, your skepticism is fair, and yeah three weeks felt fast to me too. But we happened to have our kitchen set to a pretty steady 72 degrees with good natural light, so maybe that helped speed things up. It's funny though, this thing has made me realize how often I write off stuff like this as gimmicky before even trying it. My fridge is full of half-dead bagged herbs I paid $3 for and used once, so the upfront cost makes a lot more sense now. There's a whole hidden world of things that actually work if you just give them a shot, and this little pod setup is one of them.
