Tried that new taco spot on Piedmont last night

The salsa bar had 8 different options but they were all basically the same tomato base with different labels. I learned to just pick one and stick with it instead of making a sample platter. Anyone else find a menu item there that's actually worth the hype?

The Al Pastor is actually solid, not gonna lie. Skip the fish tacos though, they're dry.

Man I read somewhere that the fish taco problem might be because they're not fresh caught or something. Apparently a lot of places use frozen tilapia for tacos and it just doesn't hold up well. The Al Pastor sounds worth a try though, I saw someone mention on a food blog that their marinade has achiote and pineapple which gives it that real street taco taste.

Is it just me or are we acting like finding a decent fish taco is some kind of life crisis? I mean, it's a taco. If the al pastor is good, just eat that and move on. Honestly, half the time the hype around these spots is just people trying to convince themselves they didn't waste $15 on lunch. Did the place at least have decent chips or were those disappointing too?

Wait hold on though... did you actually try the chips or are you just guessing they're decent?
