Found a solid trick for finding event hosts on LinkedIn in Buckhead
I kept striking out trying to meet event planners through cold emails. After about 2 months of nothing, I tried filtering LinkedIn searches by companies that post about galas or fundraisers in the last 90 days. Then I'd check who in their event team actually commented on those posts, not just the ones listed in the org chart. That got me a one-on-one coffee with a planner who runs a 400-person charity dinner every November. She told me most vendors spam her inbox, but nobody bothers to engage with her public content first. I've done this for 3 events now and got 2 real follow-up meetings. Anyone else use LinkedIn activity as a contact filter instead of job titles alone?

My cold outreach game is so weak that my last email probably got marked as spam before the subject line even loaded, so this hits home. The part about checking who actually comments on the gala posts is smart though. A lot of people just pull up a job title and blast away without ever looking at what the person posts about. Took me way too long to figure out that liking and leaving real comments on their stuff gets you further than a fancy intro. Two meetings out of three tries is a solid hit rate, way better than the silence I've been getting.
