Hit 500 active contacts in my LinkedIn network last week and it changed how I pitch
I finally crossed 500 connections on LinkedIn after 3 years of being in the Atlanta tech scene. What surprised me was that my response rate for networking messages jumped from maybe 1 in 15 to almost 1 in 5 once I hit that number. It's like people trust you more when you've got a bigger network even if they don't know you personally. Has anyone else noticed their reach go up after a certain milestone?

Yeah that 500 mark is basically a tipping point. I noticed the same thing when I crossed it last year. It's like the platform's algorithm starts treating you differently, and strangers see you as more legit. Your messages land in their inbox with a little more weight because the number next to your name says you're already connected to a decent crowd of people. It's not fair, but it's how the game works.

500 connections changed my Atlanta outreach game too. The algorithm definitely bumps your profile visibility once you hit that number. It is a weird psychological shortcut but it works.
