I finally picked an in person group over zoom mixers

Every month I was bouncing between the Downtown Atlanta tech happy hour and a weekly virtual meetup, but the zoom crowd kept cancelling last minute so I committed to the in person one last month. The first event I went to a guy handed me his card before I even finished my coffee, and I landed a referral for a small contract by the end of the week. Has anyone else found that showing up to one spot regularly beats hopping around online?
