LinkedIn DMs vs email for Atlanta tech meetups, one is way better
I went to a few networking events here in Midtown last month and tried reaching out to people after. At first I was sending DMs on LinkedIn and getting maybe 1 reply out of 10. Then I switched to just finding their email from their company site or blog and sending a short note. I got like 6 replies out of 12 emails. Has anyone else noticed email works way better for actually setting up coffee chats?

Six replies out of twelve is a tiny sample size, man. Could just be luck or the specific people you hit up.

Depends how many cold emails they've sent total though.

Found the same thing with the Atlanta startup crowd. Email feels way less like spam and people actually check it during work hours. LinkedIn messages just sit there for days.
