Overheard a guy at the Atlanta Tech Village bragging about his $5k month

I was grabbing coffee near the stairs and this dude says he made $5k last month just from old connections he hadn't talked to in 2 years. He kept saying 'your network is your net worth' like it was a breakthrough or something. Is that really a thing or just luck?

Knew a buddy who ran into an old coworker at a gas station. They hadn't talked in 3 years. That guy ended up getting him a side gig that paid $4k in 2 months. So yeah, sometimes it's just about being out there and bumping into the right people.

Agree with that. Staying top of mind is half the battle. Even a quick "hey, saw this and thought of you" text every few months can keep those doors open when you need them.

Is it just me or does it feel like those random run-ins always happen when you least expect em? I had something similar happen a few years back. Bumped into a guy I used to work with at a coffee shop, we shot the breeze for like 10 minutes. A month later he texts me out of the blue asking if I wanted to pick up some freelance work he was swamped with. Made an easy 1500 bucks just from shooting the breeze for a few minutes. It's wild how small talk can turn into real opportunities.
