Passed on a big contract last week because the client wanted me to come to Buckhead every single morning at 8 AM sharp.

Traffic on 75 is pure chaos at that hour, I just am not doing that to myself even if it means less money for the month, has anyone else turned down a gig over Atlanta commute nonsense?

Lost an hour each way" - that's what coleman.hannah said. Sounds like a personal problem. You could manage your time better and leave earlier. 8 AM is not that unreasonable for a big contract. Money talks, traffic walks. I get it, nobody loves sitting on 75. But turning down a good paycheck because of a commute? That's a soft move. Adjust your schedule, find a podcast, use the time to mentally prep for the day. Every job has its downside. Look at it this way - more time in the car means more time to think. Or make calls on Bluetooth. Or listen to audiobooks. People act like 30 minutes in traffic is a prison sentence. It's a chance to decompress before and after work. You passed on money because of a minor inconvenience. That's not smart. That's letting a little road trouble cost you real income. Suck it up next time.

Traffic on 75 is pure chaos at that hour" is an understatement lol. I actually heard from a buddy who drives from Acworth to Buckhead that he lost an hour each way just sitting in traffic last week. No amount of money is worth that kind of headache every single day, your sanity matters more than a paycheck. I read somewhere that people in Atlanta spend like 2 weeks a year just stuck in traffic and that's insane.

I switched to taking MARTA from the North Springs station a few years back and it cut my stress in half. Just bring a book or some podcasts and let someone else do the driving.
