Ran into a guy at the Atlanta Tech Village elevator who said he always carried business cards in his sock

He told me he lost a $5,000 contract once because he had no way to share his info when his phone died, and since then he keeps ten cards tucked in his sock at every event has anyone else heard of a trick that wild?

I've got a small zip pouch in my purse lining for the same reason. Saved me when I ran into a potential client at a coffee shop and my phone was dead.

My phone died at a networking event too, but I just panicked and offered people fist bumps instead.

Fist bumps totally count as a networking win in my book.

Honestly, that sock trick is the kind of brilliant I'd never think of until I'm sweating through a networking event with no backup plan. Tbh, my go-to is just keeping a few cards loose in my jacket pocket, but I've definitely pulled one out that was so crinkled it looked like a receipt from 2005. Ngl, my best move is accidentally leaving business cards in my jeans and finding them in the washing machine, then handing over a soggy piece of cardboard to someone like "here's my info... and a mystery stain.
