Should you exchange business cards fast or slow? A weird thing happened at a Buckhead coffee shop...

I was at the Hatch Cafe in Buckhead last Thursday for their weekly networking breakfast. Saw this guy, real smooth, just casually sliding his card across the table after every conversation. Then this other woman, she'd hold onto her card until the very end, almost like she was guarding it. The smooth guy got a lot of follow-ups that same week according to a mutual friend. The woman said nobody even scanned her QR code. But then I got thinking, the fast card guy felt kinda pushy, like he was just collecting contacts. The slow card lady felt more genuine but maybe missed the window. So which side is better for actually building a connection in Atlanta? Does speed show you're serious, or does holding back show respect and make them want to ask for your info?

Huh, the slow approach worked better for me in similar situations.

Yeah, I used to think the fast approach was always the way to go. But after a few situations where rushing just made things worse, I started to see the value in slowing down. You're right, it's really about saving time in the long run.
