Showerthought: hit 50k in revenue from local referrals alone this year
I mean I knew referrals were doing well but when I ran the numbers last week it was legit half my income coming from people I've never even marketed to. Has anyone else had a milestone like that sneak up on them in this city?

Sat down to do my quarterly books last week and realized my referral income actually made me spill my coffee. Always figured word of mouth was doing the heavy lifting, but seeing a number that big hit different. Guess I've been doing something right without even knowing it, or my customers just feel sorry for me and send their friends my way. Either way, I'll take it before the universe catches on.

My advice is to lean into it hard without being weird about it. Set up a simple system where you ask every new customer how they heard about you and keep a running list of who referred them. Then send those referrers a small thank you gift nothing crazy like a $10 coffee card or a handwritten note. I did that for three months straight and my referral leads jumped another 15% because people felt appreciated and kept talking.
