Spilled coffee all over my laptop at a Peachtree Center meetup

I was trying to hand my card to someone at a WeWork event last Tuesday and knocked a full mug onto my keyboard mid-sentence. Now I bring a sealed thermos everywhere, anyone else switch their drink setup after a disaster?

Honestly, the thermos switch sounds smart. But I gotta ask, was the mug itself like a regular ceramic one or one of those travel mugs with a lid? Because I've seen people think they're safe with the lid ones only to have the lid pop off mid-swipe. That's a whole different level of disaster if the coffee geysers out sideways onto someone else's laptop. Maybe it's just me but I'd worry more about seal integrity than just switching vessel types. Like, did you test your thermos by shaking it upside down over a sink yet? Just seems like a critical step people skip and then regret later.
