Stopped preaching the 10-year-old router gospel after a factory tour
I used to run everything in my Decatur shop off one dusty Cisco router from 2014, figured if it wasn't broke don't touch it. Then I tagged along on a friend's tour of a data center near Alpharetta last month and saw how they run redundant fiber paths with active failover, made my single uplink feel like a joke. Has anyone else switched to managed switches or dual WAN after seeing how the big setups actually work, or am I overthinking this?

Ever notice how once you peek behind the curtain at any pro setup, the stuff you thought was "fine" suddenly feels like duct tape and prayers... same thing happened to me with my truck's air compressor after seeing a real shop's setup.

Same thing happened with my home garage. I thought my little pancake compressor was fine until I borrowed a buddy's two stage unit for a weekend. Now my garage feels like a toy aisle and I keep looking up prices I definitely shouldn't pay.
