The difference between the Gwinnett meetup and Buckhead happy hour was wild

Went to the Gwinnett one last month, 12 people and everyone actually talked shop and shared contacts. Last night in Buckhead, it was 40 people but mostly folks handing out cards and leaving in 15 minutes. Anyone else notice the vibe shift depending on which side of 285 you're on?

Ha, I feel this so hard. I showed up to Buckhead thinking I'd have a real conversation and ended up practicing my elevator pitch with a guy who kept looking at his watch like I was the one wasting his time. Meanwhile the Gwinnett meetup I went to, someone spilled coffee on my notes and we still swapped numbers and talked for an hour. I think I'm just destined to be the awkward one at the shiny events and the regular one at the strip mall spots.
