TIL the Tuesday morning meetup at the Roswell Dunkin is way better than the big Thursday mixer downtown
Went to two different Atlanta networking events this week and the smaller one blew the big one away. Thursday I hit a mixer near Peachtree Center with maybe 90 people, paid $15 at the door, and got about 4 real conversations out of 2 hours. Everyone was shouting over the music and handing out cards like it was a race. Then Tuesday morning I tried a little get-together at the Dunkin on Holcomb Bridge in Roswell, maybe 12 of us around two pushed-together tables, no cover charge. I grabbed a coffee for $3 and talked to a guy who does IT for a clinic in Alpharetta for like 25 minutes straight. We actually figured out he knows a CPA who could help with something I've been stuck on. Got 3 solid follow-ups out of that one, not just a pile of cards. The small room just makes people actually listen instead of scan the crowd. Anyone got other small weekday meetups around the north side I should check out?
