Trade show mixers need fewer beach balls, more real talk

At the Georgia World Congress Center last spring, I watched 40 people ignore each other to chase a beach ball someone tossed over the breakout room. Ended up talking to the janitor about supply chain issues, learned more than any badge conversation I had. Why do organizers think loud games build connections when I just want 10 minutes with one person who does what I do?
