Warning: paid $75 for a Buckhead mixer and spent the whole time in line for a warm beer
Saw maybe two people actually swap cards between the free app demos and the raffle, so now I just hit the free Tuesday meetup at the Atlanta Tech Village and talk to five real people instead of fifty randos, has anyone found a paid event in this city that's actually worth the cover?

Warm beer" is the perfect way to put it. Paid mixers here are just a cover charge to stand in a crowded room with bad lighting. I went to one in Midtown, forty bucks, and the only real talk I had was with the bartender. The free stuff wins every time. Tuesday at the Village, or just hitting a coffee shop and chatting up strangers, beats any ticketed networking thing I've tried. Save your money.
