Found out factory seam sealer is way softer than I thought, and it explains a comeback I ate 3 months ago
Was reading a tech sheet from 3M while waiting on primer to flash and it said their seam sealer stays flexible down to -20F, which is way more give than the hard stuff I was using on a quarter panel job back in February. Customer brought it back with cracked sealer along the wheel arch and I blamed my prep, but turns out I just picked the wrong product for a car that sits outside all winter in Minneapolis. Any of you switch sealers by season, or do you just run one kind year round?

That "stays flexible down to -20F" line hit me. I used to figure sealer was sealer, but a cracked wheel arch in February taught me the hard stuff just can't hang when it's cold.
