Had to pick between fixing a dent or fixing my mistake, guess which one I did first
Last Tuesday in Fresno, a customer brought in a Honda Civic with a door ding so tiny I could've popped it with my thumb. But I'd already promised them a 2pm pickup, and at 1:30 I realized I grabbed the wrong paint code off the shelf and sprayed the fender a shade off. So I had to choose: fix the easy ding quick or strip and reshoot the fender before they showed up. I chose the fender, redid it in 40 minutes flat, and the ding took me 5 minutes after. Customer never knew, but my heart was pounding harder than my compressor. Anyone else ever prioritize the hidden screwup over the obvious job?

Reminds me of the time I nicked a patient's gum line during a cleaning and had to decide whether to mention it or just polish like nothing happened... let's just say I polished really, really well that day.
