Hit my first full frame pull in 12 years of painting
Took on a 2015 Silverado rear quarter that another shop said was a cut and patch job. Pulled it in Sacramento last Thursday and got the gaps to within 2mm of factory spec. Did any of you start on collision work or are we all learning this stuff the hard way?

Big pulls on those Silverado quarters are no joke with all that wheel arch shape fighting you the whole way. What saved me on a similar one was anchoring to the door gap and rocker first, then working the quarter back toward the tail so the factory lines told me where to stop. I also kept a sacrificial panel bolted on during the pull just to watch the gap close in real time, sounds dumb but it kept me from overshooting. Started in a collision shop myself and the old guys there taught me more in six months than any class did, mostly by yelling at me. Getting it inside 2mm after another shop passed on it says plenty about your setup.
