I finally painted a bumper at a Pep Boys parking lot at 9pm
Had a customer show up 2 hours late and needed their bumper done before a wedding the next morning. My shop was closed so I set up a makeshift spray booth next to a dumpster using trash bags and a work light. Has anyone else had to do a repair in a weird spot like that?

Did you at least get it done without any trash bags blowing onto the wet paint? I did a tail light repair once in a Walmart lot when somebody backed into my truck while I was grocery shopping. Had to use a roll of packing tape and a phone flashlight to hold a broken lens together long enough to make it home. The whole time people are walking past with their carts staring at me like I'm a crazy person. Ended up having to explain to security what I was doing, but they let me finish since it was already dark and I wasn't making a mess.

Hate when people stare like you're doing something weird. @bell.jessica, I feel you on the security thing though. They always show up right when you're knee deep in tape and busted plastic. At least the paint job held up long enough. That's all that really matters in the end. Trash bags are the least of your worries when you're just trying to make it home before the whole thing falls apart again.
