My brand new paint gun clogged after 10 minutes on a job yesterday
Honestly, I was livid. I grabbed a fresh HVLP gun I just bought, a Devilbiss model, to spray a hood on a 2018 F-150 in Marietta. Ten minutes in, the tip sputtered and then just stopped. I had to stop everything, tear it down right there in the shop, and found a tiny piece of dried paint stuck in the fluid nozzle from the factory. No idea how it got there, maybe from their quality check. I spent 45 minutes flushing it with acetone and using a pick to get it clear. Has anyone else had a brand new gun fail like that right out of the box?

Lucky it wasn't a high end turbine setup, those can be a nightmare to clean out.

Yeah I've heard those high end ones are a total pain. A buddy of mine runs a service shop and he said they get caked up with this weird oily residue that takes forever to scrub off. Makes you grateful for the basic models sometimes, even if they're not as fancy.
