PPG paint code matched but shade was off by a mile on a pearl white

Had a 2022 Toyota in Tacoma last week, code said 070 but the blend still showed pinkish under the booth lights. Anyone else run into pearl whites where the formula needs a second look before spraying?

You checked the mixing room's temp and humidity before you sprayed, right? Pearl whites are super picky about that, and I've seen the same code go pink when the shop's too cold or damp. I always shoot a quick test card under the same light before I commit to the whole panel.

Damn, that actually makes a ton of sense. I used to think the mixing room was just about paint consistency, not the final color on the panel. But yeah, the test card trick under the same light is smart, @white.keith, I never considered how humidity could shift a pearl that much. Guess I've been lucky so far, but I'm definitely stealing that habit for my next job.
