Rant: My spray gun clogs non-stop during big jobs

Was painting a van today and the gun clogged every few minutes. It made the finish look patchy and I had to redo it twice. Any tips to keep this from happening?

Yeah, that's the worst. I had a similar fight with some enamel last summer. What finally worked for me was warming the paint cans in a bucket of warm water for a bit before I started, just to thin it out naturally. I also made a habit of stopping to wipe the tip with thinner and a rag every single time I refilled the cup, even if it looked clean. It added a minute here and there but saved me so many clogs and redos in the long run.

Thinning the paint a bit more than usual helped me a lot on big surfaces. Also, running it through a fine mesh filter right before it goes in the cup stopped most of the little clumps.
