That's a serious chunk of change for a whim. I've seen decent ones for half that.

Honestly, I was right there with you on the price thing. Used to think any old heat lamp would do the same job. But I tried a cheaper one on a cabinet door and the finish stayed tacky for days. The good infrared lamp had it rock hard and ready to handle in an hour. It just hits different, you know? The upfront cost hurts, but it saves so much time on recoat windows.
