Tried to blend a single panel on a silver Ford and now the whole side is repainted
Was doing a quick blend on a rear quarter panel in my garage last Tuesday. The metallic flake laid down totally wrong and I had to keep spraying until the whole door and front fender matched. Anyone else hate how silver paint reveals every mistake?

Silver paint is the devil's chosen color for body work, I swear. My first time trying to blend silver on a used Camry turned my whole driver's side into a solid color from the front bumper to the taillight because the flake kept laying down like a drunk spider web. Now I just tell people I'm a professional painter who specializes in turning one panel jobs into five panel jobs.

Watched my buddy try to blend a silver fender on his old truck last summer. He spent three hours trying to get the flake to line up right, just spraying and wiping it off over and over. Ended up with a perfect paint job that only looked right if you stood on one leg in the noon sun. He sold the truck a month later and bought a black one.

Actually, that's more about the metallic flake than the silver base color itself.
