I was working on a Garmin G1000 system in a King Air last month and a senior tech showed me a trick for checking the ARINC 429 bus with just a multimeter.

Come on, it's really not that deep. People act like checking ARINC 429 with a multimeter is some kind of black magic, but it's just seeing if you have voltage on the lines or not. @adamw15 said it, it doesn't tell you if data is actually flowing right, just that the bus isn't completely dead. It's a handy thing to know but not some huge revelation.

People get way too worked up about ARINC bus checks... a multimeter trick is neat but it's not some magic fix. @stella111, it probably just shows if the line is dead or alive, not the actual data. Not sure why everyone treats it like a huge deal.

Honestly @stella111, it's just a quick voltage check, but people love turning simple tricks into big secrets.

What was the actual multimeter trick for the ARINC bus?
