Pitot static test gone sideways at 2AM in Anchorage

Had a Cessna 208 with a leaking static line that read 20 knots off at cruise, and by the time I chased it through the bulkhead it was 4AM with the cargo load already waiting. Anyone else fight a leak that only shows up in cold soak conditions or was I just unlucky that night?

Heard this EXACT story from my buddy who flies a 208 up in Bethel. He swore it was a cracked line, tore apart the whole cabin, then the sun came up and the leak just vanished. Turns out it was the o-ring the whole time, same bulletin.

Alaska Northwest Aero has a service bulletin on those 208 static ports, the o-ring shrinks below zero and seats like a rock until it warms up. Try a heat gun on the port itself before you waste another night chasing bulkheads.
