Rant: a ramp guy in Houston pointed at my connector and I never skipped the pull test again
Back in 2011 I was working a quick turn in Houston and rushing to get a pitot heat check done before push. An old ramp guy walked by, looked at the connector I just mated, and asked if I'd done a pull test. I said I'd get to it later. He just shook his head and walked off. Two flights later that bird came back with a intermittent air data fault, and sure enough the pin had backed out of the shell. Since then I do the pull test on every single connector, no exceptions, even on a 20 minute turn. It adds maybe 30 seconds and has saved me at least three return trips. Has anyone else had a connector bite them after skipping the tug?
