TIL a $12 ratcheting terminal crimper beat my old pliers crimper on a King Air pitot plug
Last week I had to redo a pitot heat connector on a King Air and my old pliers style crimper kept slipping near the back of the pin. I borrowed a coworker's ratcheting tool and it clicked through a full cycle every time, so the pin sat straight and the wire pulled tight with no give. After about 6 tries with the pliers I redid the whole plug with the ratchet in one pass and stopped chasing loose ends. Now I want to know if you all stick with a tool for a certain squeeze count or just feel it out on these smaller pins?
