Why does everyone skip the bonding strap check on old turboprops?

Ive been doing line maintenance for 6 years now, mostly on Beechcraft and Piper twins around the Charlotte area. Every time we get a plane in with intermittent radio static or a weird compass swing, the first thing the younger guys do is swap antennas or re-certify the transponder. Nobody ever crawls under the floor panels to look at the bonding straps. Last Tuesday I found one on a King Air that was just dangling, the lug had corroded clean off after 14 years of moisture creep. It took me 20 minutes to fix and it cleared three squawks that had been written up for two weeks. Am I the only tech who treats bonding as a first check instead of a last resort? How often do you actually pull those straps on your airframes?
