Finally finished the Pacific Crest Trail section from Donner Pass to Highway 5 after three failed attempts over the years...

The difference this time was swapping my 60L pack for a 45L and cutting my base weight from 28 pounds to 19, and I actually had energy for the last 10 miles instead of limping in after dark.

Whoa, slow down there! I mean, glad it worked out, but are we really acting like 9 pounds is the difference between life and death now?

Dude @sanchez.ivan is right haha, 9 pounds is nothing in the grand scheme. I once carried a 50 pound bag of concrete mix an extra mile because I thought the shortcut was open and it was fine. People act like an extra gallon of water is the end of the world lmao.
