Remember when the trail to Iceberg Lake in Glacier was just a worn path?

I went back last summer and it's a wide, gravel highway now, all because they rerouted it after that big washout in 2019. Anyone have a favorite old-school route that's gotten a major facelift?

Honestly thought the upgrades were just for show at first. But that new gravel on the Iceberg trail saved my knees last trip, and it still gets you to the same amazing view. Kinda miss the old vibe, but I get why they did it.

My knees sound like a bowl of rice krispies on the old trail, so I'm all for the gravel. I still took a wrong turn last time and ended up bushwhacking for twenty minutes, which is pretty on brand for me. The upgrades can't fix my lack of a sense of direction. At least the view was the same when I finally found it, just with more sweat and swearing.
