Warning: the Bighorn route in July is brutal this year, turn back at the pass
Did the 14 mile loop last Tuesday. The stream crossings on the north side are hip deep and fast, way worse than the map shows. Got caught in a hail storm around 2pm, no cover until you drop below treeline. Bug pressure off the charts too, I went through half my deet in one day. Ive done this route 3 times before and never saw it like this. Anyone else hit the same conditions up there this month? Stick to the southern loop or wait till September.

Hiked it last week and the crossings were barely knee deep, maybe you hit it after the storm.
