Wasted $150 on a fancy GPS watch that barely worked on the trail

Picked up a Garmin Fenix 6 last month thinking it'd be great for tracking my routes in the Smokies, but the battery died after 6 hours on day two when I needed it most. Turns out the GPS mode drains way faster than the specs said, and I ended up using my phone anyway. Anyone else got burned by overpriced gear that didn't live up to the hype?

Not really that serious. $150 for a watch that kinda works is just part of the game. Phones work fine for most people anyway.

Oh totally, $150 for a watch that "kinda works" is a steal! It's not like you could buy a whole day's worth of groceries for that or anything, right? And yeah, phones are just so convenient when you're running and your arm is flopping around, trying to glance at a tiny screen. It's practically a core workout.

Part of the game" is right, got a used Garmin off Craigslist that's been solid for years.
