Why does everyone plan the Enchantments as an overnight when the day trip is way better
I keep seeing posts where people map out a 2 night trip through the Core Zone and then stress about the permit lottery for months. Last August I did the whole 18 mile thru hike in one day starting at the Stuart Lake trailhead at 5am, and it was the best call I could have made. You skip the heavy pack, you skip the camping lottery, and you still get Colchuck Lake and Aasgard Pass before the afternoon crowds show up. Am I missing something about why people choose the overnight version?
