Can we talk about how I used to fight with garden hoses every weekend

Back in 2015, I spent every Saturday untangling a cheap 50 foot rubber hose that kinked up worse than a pretzel. I’d drag it around the yard, step on it by accident, and then have to wrestle with a spray nozzle that dripped nonstop. Last year I switched to a 75 foot expandable hose with a brass fitting, cost me like 40 bucks at the local hardware store in Austin. Now I just pull it out, it shrinks back when I’m done, no kinks at all. Made my whole backyard watering routine way less annoying. Anyone else finally upgrade their hose setup and wonder why they waited so long?

Nah, I still prefer my old rubber hose, works fine for me.

My 2018 truck actually started leaking coolant through the rubber hose last winter. I replaced it with a silicone one and noticed the difference right away. The engine temp stays way more consistent now, especially when I'm hauling stuff up steep grades. I get that the old rubber ones work for daily driving, but they just don't handle the heat like silicone does. Once you see how long the silicone ones last, going back feels like a downgrade.

Right there with you, that shift to a better hose changes everything.
